The March Engineering manual describes the square Dust Extraction Unit as follows:-
''The March Dust Extraction Unit is designed to fit all March Tool and Cutter Grinders, The powerful extractor removes both metal and wheel dust, giving better visibility, a cleaner job and longer life to the Cutter Grinder. Dust is kept clear of adjacent machinery too. The unit ensures safety for the operator against flying particles, and the danger of breathing dust. It is compact - occupying only 2.5 square feet of floor space. It is easily fitted to the Cutter Grinder and can be located in any convenient position. The unit can be supplied with a Cutter Grinder or on its own for connection to an existing machine.''
A note from the March Engineering Operators Manual:-
"If you use Dry Grinding Machines for 12 hours per week or more you must supply some means of dust extraction.
You may either link your March Tool & Cutter Grinding Machine to your existing system or use a separate March Dust Extraction Unit
which can be purchased as an optional extra. If, however, you do not require dust extraction facilities you must blank off the guard outlet
with 1/8" minimum thickness of plate."
The law requires you to guard as much of the wheel as practically possible.
↓ Extractor Hood for Mark1 and Mark 2.
The outside diameter of the spigot on the Extractor Hood on my Clarkson Mark 1 is 75mm.
This 75mm spigot will need a reducer to allow a 60mm hose to be fitted.
