↓ The literature on the right is a 21 page article on the Clarkson by Mike Houghton.
This is a 5 part Clarkson Mark2 article (applicable to the Mark1) in the MEW magazine (No.148 to No.153).
Mike Haughton, the author of the article, describes in detail the purchase, set up and use of a Mark2 in his workshop.

↓ (23-07-16) This was for sale for 300 pounds on the homeworkshop.org.uk website, located in York.

It was described as:-

Clarkson Mk 1 cutter grinder for sale.
All fully working, with single phase motor, but could use some TLC to bring it into top shape. It is fairly well tooled.
Includes:
- Spindle extension piece.
- Pair of centres.
- The angle adjustable workhead.
- One arbor for the workhead.
- Morse taper adapters to fit the workhead: MT1,2,3,4.
- Diamond cup wheel (mounted on the pictures) plus original box and instructions :-)
- Two brand new never used white wheels: a cup and a thin straight wheel, complete with plastic centre inserts.
- A dinky little Eclipse AX255 magnetic chuck approx 2" x 5": could be used for small scale surface grinding.
Bad bits:
- The front handle must have been knocked at some point and wobbles a bit. Worth replacing with a graduated one anyway.
- The motor mount is crudely made from Dexion: ugly but works.
- The head elevating screw has a rather ugly handle on it.
- It could do with a NVR switch - currently there's just a mains plug on the motor cable.
- The nameplate on the front of the head has been bashed at some point.
Good things:
It all works, and comes with most of the hard to find essentials :-)
It will break easily into sections which should fit in any car - can assist with loading.
I may also be able to deliver in reasonable driving distance of York for cost of fuel but would prefer if buyers inspected in person first - it is located within 20 minutes walk from York railway station.
Selling only as a package - will not split or sell tooling separately at this point! Cash on collection please.

↓ (02-07-16) This machine sold on ebay for 155 pounds, located in Hockley, Essex.

I really like this machine.

It was described as:-
Clarkson Mk 1 Tool & Cutter Grinder. Bought some time ago, never used by me - change of plans mean this is no longer required. Nice machine, ready to use.
240V Single Phase.
Has had new spindle sealed bearings and new feedscrew / nut fitted - no backlash.
Feed screw has been fitted with graduated slip dial.
Table moves nice and smoothly, no excessive play.
Has been fitted with Vee belt pulleys and power twist belt. Belt seems louder than I would expect - maybe adjustment required, not sure. I have the original flat belt pulleys if you want to convert it back.
Also included two brackets that can be used to mount the motor on top of the overarm to reduce footprint (see last photo).

↓ These motor brackets are really impressive, what a great idea.
The brackets reduce the footprint of the machine by mounting the motor over the top casting.
